Zhuocai Ouyang

I am Zhuocai Ouyang from China. I was born On June. 19, 1976 in city of Anfu, a southeastern part of China. with my family, immigrated to Lubbock, Texas in 2018. The immigration case was based on my application as an elite artist in China. Now we are permanent residents in America. I have a desire to pursue my art career in oil painting in America in the future. Painting has always been my great enjoyment since I was a child of three or four. At an early age, my desire was to be a professional painter when I grew up. Fortunately, painting has become an important part of my life after many years of pursuing my dream. I took oil paintings as my major at university in 1995. After graduation, I furthered my postgraduate study at Nanjing University of the Arts between 2002 and 2005. Upon my graduation, I started my teaching career in oil painting on various subjects at Jiangxi Normal University. In addition to my teaching, I engage myself in the art of oil paintings. In recent years, my art works have been selected into national and provincial academic art exhibitions in China; some of which even won national awards. Painting can be a very private and self-conscious thing. I personally enjoy the entire process of painting more than a completed painting itself.

Character image has always been my concern and interest. I am always fascinated by some states of emotion and try to use painting to explore the human spiritual world. I like to depict characters in a realistic way. Realistic paintings depict objects from the natural world, but it is not about simply reproducing the objective things but with deeper psychological experience and spiritual pursuit. From my understanding, painters can always obtain stronger spirit power to convey their own thoughts and pursuits toward the essence of painting through the process of structuring, modeling, and coloring, in which each individual painter’s style and art language can be observed.
